The legacy of a military legend's faith. Before becoming a Confederate general, Thomas J. Jackson was a volunteer Sunday school teacher at the Lexington Presbyterian Church in Virginia.

Believing that everyone was entitled to a spiritual education, he taught a special class of black children and adults the word of God.

The first edition of this title received a Young Reader's Citation from the Colonial Dames of America.
