Celestial charts : antique maps of the heavens

Pioneering astronomers began charting and cataloguing the stars over 2,000 years ago, mapping first the northern and then the southern sky, identifying a variety of constellations which eventually became the 88 internationally recognised constellations of western astronomy today.
