En muchos paises latinos o africanos, a principios del siglo XX apenas habia minorias protestantes que no llegaban al 1%, y ahora en la actualidad muchos de estos paises tienen grupos protestantes que superan el 20 o el 30% de la poblacion. El crecimiento del protestantismo en China, la India y Rusia supondra un crecimiento sostenido que puede llevarlo a traspasar la barrera de los mil millones de protestantes en el mundo a mediados del siglo XXI.

En el ano 2017, se celebrara el 500(deg) aniversario del comienzo oficial del protestantismo. Por lo tanto, Protestantes explora en plenitud el nacimiento del protestantismo, las transformaciones de la Reforma, las raices del protestantismo de habla hispana, la aportacion del protestantismo a la cultura occidental y finalmente los retos del protestantismo general frente al posmodernismo. Todo esto, bajo la perspectiva fundamental de los cuatro principios basicos de la Reforma: Solo Gracia, Sola Fe, Sola Escritura y Solo Cristo.

In 2017, we will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the official foundation of Protestantism. Therefore, Protestantes [Protestants] explores in fullness the birth of Protestantism, the transformations of the Reformation, the roots of Spanish-speaking Protestantism, the contribution of Protestantism to the Western world, and finally the general challenges to Protestantism in the midst of postmodernism. All of this is viewed under the fundamental perspective of the four basic principles of the Reformation: by grace alone, by faith alone, by Scripture alone, and by Christ alone.
