Cult Spaghetti Westerns

Triple bill of Spaghetti Westerns. In 'Django' (1966) directed by Sergio Corbucci, Franco Nero stars as the eponymous anti-hero, a former Union soldier who arrives in a border ghost town dragging a coffin behind him.

He becomes involved in the conflict between a band of Mexican revolutionaries and a merciless group of soldiers led by Major Jackson (Eduardo Fajardo), a racist former Confederate officer, when he rescues María (Loredana Nusciak), a prostitute, from their clutches.

When a plot to steal gold from Jackson leads him into trouble, will Django choose María and freedom or continue on his violent and bloody path?

Enzo G. Castellari directs 'Keoma' (1976), in which Keoma Shannon (Nero) returns home after fighting in the Civil War to discover that his half-brothers have formed an alliance with a dangerous gang led by Caldwell (Donald O'Brian).

Violence and brutality now plague the town and Keoma will not let that stand.

Finally, 'A Bullet for the General' (1966) directed by Damiano Damiani, is set during the Mexican revolution in 1913.

Bill Tate (Lou Castell), an undercover agent, is sent to infiltrate a gang of bandits with orders to win their leader's trust and then assassinate him.

However, his growing friendship with guerilla fighter El Chucho (Gian Maria Volonté) complicates his mission.
