Babymother

Julian Henrique directs this 1990s British musical drama set in London.

Neeta (Anjela Lauren Smith) is an aspiring singer who brings up her two children in Harlesden with the aid of her mother, Edith (Corinne Skinner-Carter).

Byron (Wil Johnson), the father of Neeta's children, is a local reggae star who promises to help Neeta with her singing career but when she discovers that he has been plagiarising her lyrics she endeavours to make it on her own.

Convinced of her talent, Neeta calls upon the help of friends Sharon (Caroline Chikezie) and Yvette (Jocelyn Jee Esien), but the trio encounter various obstacles on their road to success.
