The Clique/A Cinderella Story/What a Girl Wants

Teen comedy triple bill. 'The Clique' (2008), based on the novels by Lisi Harrison, follows a cliquey group of schoolgirls, led by the spoilt Massie Block (Elizabeth McLaughlin).

When friends of the family come to stay at her house, Massie is forced to spend time with their unfashionable daughter, Claire (Ellen Marlow).

At first Massie and her friends make fun of Claire but in time Massie finds her position within the group threatened by the so-called loser.

In 'A Cinderella Story' (2004), a modern-day re-telling of the classic fairy tale, Hilary Duff stars as Sam Martin, a sweet but awkward high-school girl who has been suffering since the death of her father.

The diner he owned now belongs to his thoroughly wicked widow, Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge), a former waitress who now makes Sam do all the hard work, mopping floors and washing dishes.

School is no picnic for Sam, either, with the most popular girl, the rich, pretty and bitchy Shelby (Julie Gonzalo), making her life a misery.

Things take a turn for the better when Sam loses her mobile phone and it is found by a mystery guy.

The pair embark on a romance conducted entirely by text message and email.

What will happen when Sam finally gets to meet him in person at the Hallowe'en school dance?

In 'What a Girl Wants' (2003), based on the play and 1958 film 'The Reluctant Debutante' written by William Douglas-Home, Daphne Reynolds (Amanda Bynes), a typical American teenager, comes to London to visit the father (Colin Firth) she has never met.

However, a clash of cultures is inevitable, particularly when her father is part of the English aristocracy.

Undeterred, Daphne sets out to prove that love can conquer all and almost succeeds in destroying the relationship with her father before it even begins.
