Portuguese war drama set during the Battle of Lys in WWI.

When young soldier Anibal Milhoes (Joao Arrais) is caught behind enemy lines he does all he can to ensure the safety of his remaining colleagues still caught in the trenches.

As an older man, Milhoes (Miguel Borges) recalls these events and questions the moral behind war as WWII threatens to ravage the continent.
