The individual chapters cover all aspects of the cochlear implant technique, ranging from ethical considerations and patient selection criteria for surgery to choice and programming of the different devices.

Special importance is given to the fact that successful rehabilitation does not only depend on the surgical and technical team, but also requires interaction between the child, their family and the therapist during follow-up treatment.
