Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven is illustrated with Alan James Robinson's masterful etchings and wood engravings.

A third generation evgraver, Robinson is carrying on the tradition that Manet made notable with his lithographs for the 1875 French edition of The Raven.

Poe's eloquent modus operandi, "The Philosophy of Composition," is also included.
