When her anthropologist husband fails to return from an expedition into the jungles of New Guinea, Susan Stevenson (Andress) organises a search party to go looking for him.

Accompanied by her brother Arthur (Antonio Marsina) and her husband's friend Professor Edward Foster (Stacy Keach), Susan heads towards the mountain Ra Ra Me, the last confirmed location her husband visited.

However, the mountain is rumoured to be cursed and a tribe of primitive cannibals are said to live there.

The group continues on regardless but it soon becomes apparent that each member has their own reasons for making the trip...
