In 'The Shakedown' (1960), following his release from prison Augie Cortona (Terence Morgan) finds that his old colleague, Gollar (Harry H.

Corbett), has taken over his prostitution ring so Augie decides to set up a new business with photographer Jessup Brown (Donald Pleasence) using a model studio as a front for much seedier work.

To earn more money, Augie blackmails his customers with photographic evidence of their activities with call girls.

As his new venture thrives, however, he leaves a bigger trail for the police to follow...

In 'Murder in Eden' (1961) the death of an art critic results in a murder investigation that sees Inspector Sharkey (Ray McAnally) of Scotland Yard team up with French journalist Geneviève Beaujean (Yvonne Buckingham) to try and solve the mystery.

In 'Mystery of the Wentworth Castle' (1940) Chinese detective Mr Wong (Boris Karloff) and female reporter Roberta Logan (Marjorie Reynolds) team up in order to solve the mystery of a wealthy shipping tycoon's death.

In 'Bash and Grab' (1965) Valentine Dyall narrates a promotional film deterring criminals from attacking a pay security service.

In 'Danger By My Side' (1963) following the death of her brother at the hands of a criminal gang Lynne Marsden (Maureen Connell) changes identity in order to track down his killers and reveal their diamond smuggling operation.

In 'Where Has Poor Mickey Gone?' (1964) four unruly youths, Mick (John Malcolm), Ginger (Raymond Armstrong), Tim (John Challis) and Kip (Christopher Robbie) enter a magic shop where they harass the elderly magician Emilio (Warren Mitchell).

However, their meddling ends up having fatal consequences for them but will anyone believe their story.

In 'The Black Abbot' (1934) a gang of criminals kidnap a wealthy gentleman at his stately home and use the legend of a ghost to cover their tracks.

However, their efforts come to the attention of an American detective, Charlie Marsh (Ben Welden), who is on holiday in the area.

In 'Devil's Bait' (1959) baker Joe Frisby (Geoffrey Keen) has a pest problem and calls in a local exterminator.

However, when some of the potassium cyanide makes its way into Frisby's latest batch of bread the race is on to stop anyone who may have purchased a loaf to avoid eating it or face the dire consequences.

In 'The Secret Tunnel' (1948) antiques collector Mr Henderson (Murray Matheson) returns from Egypt with his son Roger (Anthony Wager) only to discover that a valuable painting has gone missing.

Roger then takes it upon himself to recover the lost artwork.

In 'Circumstantial Evidence' (1952) a blackmail situation arises when Linda Harrison (Rona Anderson) attempts to divorce her husband so she may marry a younger man.

In 'Night Was Our Friend' (1951) keen aviator Martin Raynor (Michael Gough) is believed to be dead following a plane crash in Brazil.

However, when he returns to England he learns that his wife Sally (Elizabeth Sellars) has moved on with her life and is married again.

Shocked at the sight of her long-lost husband Sally and Martin try to figure out a way to move on with their lives.

Finally, in 'The Devil's Jest' (1954), set during WWII, Lady Enderby (Mara Russell-Tavernan) finds herself gaining unwanted attention from a German officer.
