Browns Books wants to advise our Customers that this has no affect to our supply chain, we utilise Gardners Books as our main warehouse for Books & Multimedia and have direct relationships with publishers for specialist content. We own and host our own eBook Platform VLeBooks with a current catalogue of 1.5 million eBooks.
Our team are available to support any customers with supply issues, all our services are now resumed with full details below.
To support affected Educational Institutions and libraries our eBook Platform VLebooks will now be made FREE to all customers potentially affected by this news, & our Customer Care Team are happy to support sourcing any un-fulfilled orders for print or ebooks.
Browns Books Operations Resume
Following an initial closure, our main warehouse, which is the largest UK stock holding of books in the UK, have developed a complex social distancing and change of work-flows which has been progressively staging up the capacity for dispatch and goods in. Now this is working effectively, we are able to re-open our deliveries for Schools, Colleges, Universities, Education Establishments & our direct to student solutions.
Backorders & Accounts on Hold
All accounts will be left on hold to avoid failed deliveries in case your site is closed.

Direct Orders - Live & Available!
Orders with No Servicing can be released from Tuesday 28th April 2020, deliveries will be from our usual partners UPS & Royal Mail on our priority service; however, some local sites are reporting a few days delay, but deliveries should be with you within 3-5 working days. Orders over £50 are FREE delivery.
Please ensure you have requested a single release or account put to active with Customer Care to have your orders released.
Serviced Orders - Live & Available
From Monday 4th May our servicing operation has been re-opened; we have adjusted workflows to protect our staff with social distancing. This is currently a reduced team; however, we would be delighted to process your serviced orders. Please contact Customer Care if you have orders you would like to be released and prioritised.
Delivery to Students (Paid by Institutions) Service - Live & Available
We can ship all of our products direct to students! Please supply our Customer Care team a list of delivery addresses and content required, and we can deliver direct to your students’ home addresses and invoice your Institution as usual. We will provide you a report with delivery confirmations for each delivery point to assist stock management when you return.

Our consumer platform readingspace.co.uk has been updated to focus on home learning products with over 1 million products available. Orders are currently restricted to 1 book per order to support the warehouse dispatch. However, there is no restriction on placing repeating orders. Parents and students can pay online with our secure credit card services and PayPal.
VLeBooks & Home Learning
Via our VLeBooks platform, students can access 1.5 million eBooks at home. Providing access online to your Library, Classroom & Research titles. Integrate with Office 365, Google, RM unify, OpenAthens and Shibboleth for easy deployment. To support customers further with e-resources, we have been in dialogue with our publishing partners to seek their support and approval to secure/extend unlimited access to content and deliver extra promotions for eBooks! Active promotions include nearly 200 publishers providing unlimited access. Selected Publishers are offering up to 50% off the eBook when a print book has previously been purchased and hundreds of eBooks discounted.
