This edition carries on the traditions of past volumes, examining up-to-date issues in the world of diabetes.

The annual introduces a variety of topics from TNF alpha, to diabetes in China, to traffic of glucose transporters.

Although some titles may still be easily recognizable, their contents have been modified to fit the needs of the times.

Some of these titles, such as "hyperglycaemia as an arterial risk factor", are relevent to diabetes care, while others, such as "hyperglycaemia and embryopathy, regulation of appetite", provide foundations for future developments.
