It contains approximately 800 to 1200 entries and 15 prose essays, complemented by illustrations and black-and-white photographs, which focus on the principal areas and issues that characterize this field of science.

The volume is designed to be accessible to non-specialists and contextualizes the subject with historical information and examples of famous cases in which forensic science proved invaluable.
