This volume critically reviews the fields of burn trauma, radiation injury, cellular and molecular biophysics, cellular pathology, reconstructive surgery, occupational safety, rehabilitation and public education and monitors recent medical and scientific progress in electrical and radiation injury.

The pathophysiologic significance of both thermal and nonthermal mechanisms of cell injury are discussed.

Specific cellular effects of exposure to supraphysiologic temperatures are examined to decide which burns can be reversed by therapeutic intervention.
