Working in partnership : a collaborative approach to care

The first major review of mental health nursing since 1968 is described in this report.

It explores the impact of changes in society, and social policy since that time and their implications for practice, education, research and management.

The report outlines a vision for the future which places mental health nurses in the vanguard of practice: building on existing expertise and developing new skills; collaborating confidently and constructively with colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team; and responding directly and appropriately to the needs of the people who use the services.
