Potatoes in the 1990s - Situation and Prospects of the World Potato Economy

The current structure of the world potato economy is analyzed in this study, with particular emphasis on production, utilization and trade.

The paper also draws attention to factors affecting future developments, including the results of the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).

Some of the constraints for expansion are outlined, and areas of action to enhance the development of the world potato economy suggested.
