EAF Toolbox : The Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries

The Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF) has been adopted by the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) as the appropriate and practical way to fully implement the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, including the ecological, social and economic elements of sustainability, thus addressing the main pillars of Sustainable Development.

Special attention is also placed on governance as key to realise human and environmental sustainability goals.
