The E-business Report

Based on a survey of members of the Institute of Management, Institute of Logistics and Transport, and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, this report provides an overview of the e-business applications currently being used by all types of businesses and public sector organisations.

The report should be of interest to all those practitioners in business and the public sector who need to understand better practice in internet-based applications and solutions.

It also explains how the internet is impacting upon an organisation's ability to: maximise the sales of products and services; source inputs more effectively whilst minimising costs; and, co-ordinate and integrate the supply chain for competitive advantage. Other areas in which the report is helpful are: ascertaining the e-business strategies which are currently being employed, and their level of success; understanding the various B2B applications which are currently available in the marketplace; appreciating the problems and opportunities for the different functions within firms from the e-business; and, identifying trends which are emerging and how e-business may develop in the future in different business sectors.
