The design and construction of the Lord Byron School in Leninakan, Armenia was a unique project.

The fully equipped school for 400 pupils aged between six and sixteen was the gift of the United Kingdom to Armenia after the devastating earthquake there in December 1988.

This publication follows the project from its beginning in February 1989 to its completion in July 1990.

The design is compared with its English equivalents, and the logistics of transporting materials to the remote location and the cost of the project are described.

There are also comments on the school in use.
