See all formats and editions

Ten contributions examine the political decision-making process and implications involved in some of the more interesting international aircraft collaboration projects.

Particularly intriguing are case studies of old rivals attempting such military collaboration, e.g., Russia, Ukraine, and Germany and the AN-70; and Russia and China in the SU-27 project.

Other studies highlight: US-Japan co-development of the FSX, the US-Korea fighter project, politics of the Eurofighter, the Saab AS Gripen, Canada and Finland's Hornet strike fighter, Turkish F-16 co-production, and the US-Israeli F-151 "Thunder" program.

The contributors are mainly political scientists and historians from US civilian and military colleges and universities, such as Old Dominion U. and the Air Force College.
