Jane Austen (December 16, 1775 - July 18, 1817) was an English novelist with a unique voice and writing style.

Her novels, including Pride and Prejudice, were written with sharp irony, realism, and social observations regarding a woman's dependence on marriage in the 2nd half of the 18th century.

During her lifetime, she gained little fame for her novels, which were published anonymously, and the support of her family was critical to her growth as a writer.

Credited with introducing her to the public at large, her nephew's A Memoir of Jane Austen was released in 1869.

This eventually gained her fame in the academic world as a great English writer and secured her place as one of the most widely read novelists in English literature; sadly this fame came after her death.

At Book Boutiques our goal is quality and to present the classics in an updated format for the enjoyment of the modern reader, while embracing the original voice and writing style of the author.
