One cold, cold night, Mrs Bear is putting Sam to bed. "Hck hck," coughs Sam. So Mrs Bear fetches some syrup. But there's too much syrup on a too-big spoon, and Sam can't swallow it.

Mrs Bear knows just what to do to make Sam feel better though, and together they sit up in a cosy chair, watching as the snow begins to fall outside.
