Discovery World - Stage D : Pack

Stage D of a primary programme designed to improve the way children use, read and write non-fiction.

Titles in the "Discovery World" series are graded to allow beginner readers a gradual introduction to non-fiction.

As well as text grading, the features found in all non-fiction books (captions, charts, spread headings etc.) have been gradually introduced stage by stage.

At each level there are seven titles which cover a broad selection of topics and subjects, including science, technology, maths, geography, history and art.

Stages C and D present more sophisticated page design, encouraging examination of the spread, with captions and simple bar charts, time-lines and cutaways introduced.

Question and answer text encourages interaction and investigation.
