The story of an elderly dog whose comfortable life is turned upside down by the arrival of a lively kitten.

Unable to sleep or eat in peace anymore, he is constantly on guard against the kitten's playful but needle-sharp claws. And how can he compete with the cute new arrival for Emily's affection? "Norris, I do believe you're sulking." says Emily as she bursts into laughter.

With both loss of dignity and his young owner's attention, he takes to his bed.

But when one day the kitten is threatened by the dog next door and the household is thrown into chaos, Norris instinctively springs into action and saves the day.

Our hero is amply rewarded by all concerned and Norris happily returns to his tranquil way of life - but with one little added advantage.
