Selected children's books key in to Year 4 Term 2 Range requirements of the National Literacy Strategy Framework for Teaching.

The teacher's book matches these objectives from the framework: exploring the nature of fantasy and sci-fi literature; examining how authors create alternative worlds; comparing texts about imagined worlds; and exploring character, setting and narrative structure of this genre.
