This is a practical guide to using bulbs creatively in your garden, house, conservatory and greenhouse.

Instead of taking each type of bulb in isolation it shows how to combine your bulbs with other plants in the garden to achieve impressive effects.

Sue Phillips, from BBC's "Gardeners' Question Time", shows you how to select bulbs that are healthy and in good condition, choosing the right varieties to suit your soil and situation.

She helps you to choose bulbs for colour and interest throughout the seasons and advizes on some of the more unusual bulbs that may tempt you to try something new.

She gives practical advice on how to plant bulbs in the garden and basic cultivation tips, inculding feeding and dealing with bulbs naturalized in lawns and foliage in borders after the flowers have died down.

The book also includes charts, giving flowering times of the popular species and showing the depth at which to plant them.

Also in the series are "Gardener's World Book of Houseplants" by Anne Swithinbank and "Gardener's World Book of Containers" by Anne Swithinbank.
