Five Dogs, Two Cats and a Couple of Mugs : A Greek Odyssey

Five starving puppies are dumped on the driveway of a holiday home on a Greek island. The house belongs to writer and TV presenter Mary Johns and her artist husband, Geoff Rowswell.

Their story tells of ten summers on the Greek island spent rescuing cats and finding homes for stray dogs while being made welcome by the warm-hearted Greek islanders.

Ten summers of grappling with Greek bureaucracy, sunshine and sorrow, laughter and legalities, family and friendships. Ten summers living the dream...some of the time.
