Everyone hits a rut at some point in the road of life, whether it be from dissatisfaction with family members, finances, jobs or even spouses.

At the turning point of their mid-life years, Rose and Greg exist in a stagnant tolerance of their marriage, one that began on such warmth and intimacy and is now ticking along with an acceptance of mediocrity.

At the urgings of their close friends, they consider an unconventional holiday, a coach journey to Northumberland.
