Chad is the foreman of Holt Cattle Ranch, and with the recent death of Mr. Holt, Mrs. Holt has come to rely on his help with the ranch and her unruly children. Katrina, being the oldest of the Holt children, is a tomboy.

Her three younger brothers play practical jokes on her all the time.
