The book consists of a series of encounters representing a reimagining and elaboration of the back story behind well known scripture stories, all realised with gorgeous colour images.

Each meeting is revealing of the nature of the relationships that Jesus builds with the individuals involved, tapping into the emotions and revelations that take place in their hearts.

The series of encounters commence with a Shepherdess in Bethlehem and follow through the many characters such as Simeon in the temple, John the Baptist at the Jordan and on through until the final encounter with the disciples on the Road to Emmaus.

The result is an often moving account of the relationships that are developed with Jesus as a man, but also revealing of the love that the Father has for each individual.

Each encounter gently teaches us about the nature of God’s Kingdom here on earth and the nature of man, while drawing us closer to the revelations of Jesus.

Alan is the father of six grown children and with his wife Kathleen were the Adult leaders of a Christian youth group for over twenty years. This series of reflections were prepared over the course of those years for presentation to the group on special occasions. Alan was encouraged by friends and family to publish them to a wider audience which explains this book!

Lisa was a young adult in the Youth Group and Alan was so taken with her natural talent for illustration that he asked her to collaborate with him on the production of the book. Lisa has gone on to study Graphic Arts and has an honours degree in Anthropology.
