Marcus Hook is the northernmost city on the Delmarva Peninsula.

Incorporated in 1892, Marcus Hook was originally named for a Native American chief and was once the haunt of English pirate Edward Teach (Blackbeard).

It is now best known as the home of SunOil Refinery.

Thanks to its location along the Delaware River, the town prospered as residents and businesses flocked to the area.

Other large businesses located here include the former American Viscose and British Petroleum.

Through vintage photographs, Marcus Hook commemorates the longstanding heritage of this small community and the growth of the Delaware River waterfront.
