Report on a Complaint Against Mr Ian Paisley Junior MLA Together with the Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee Relating to the Report : First Report Session 2007/2008

A complaint alleged that Ian Paisley Junior, in an interview printed in the "Hot Press" magazine, had breached the code of conduct when describing his views on issues pertaining to homosexuality.

The Interim Assembly Commissioner for Standards investigated the matter, and decided that Mr Paisley was expressing his personal views and that, within the context of the whole interview, his comments did not constitute a breach of the members code of conduct.

The Committee supported the Commissioner's decision by a majority of six to four.
