Michael Palin's Great Railway Journeys

The roving ex-python takes two train journeys covering the length and breadth of Britain and Ireland.

TV traveller Michael Palin's first outing was in 1980 as part of the BBC series 'Great Railway Journeys'.

Leaving London, he travels to Edinburgh, rides on the Flying Scotsman, before ending his journey at the Kyle of Lochalsh.

Palin's second journey takes in the whole of Ireland, including visits to Londonderry and Belfast in the north, and Dublin, Wexford and Waterford in the south, before finishing in Dingle Bay, the most westerly point in Ireland.
