In an era where there were no televisions, limited school books and education, the one-room segregated schoolhouse in the woods of the south, off the main dirt road, housed all the brown, colored and negro children as they sang praises to Du Pont. With only a few windows and only one entrance, friends, family and neighbors, every child in varying grades, learned everything together.
