The Journey on Parallel Roads reflects the couple's journey on parallel roads of profession, community leadership, and broad family responsibility. They have included their ancestry reflecting the village life then and how it changed with passing time. They come from very reputable families. Partition of India had a very negative effect on them. They could not settle either in India or in Pakistan. Naiyer Habib family not affected much stayed in India and family of Mahlaqa Naushaba Khanam(Habib) settled in Pakistan, driven as refugee from India in 1947 riots. Their long time earnestly arranged marriage with commitment, even before the partition of India was completed in 1966. They settled in Canada away from their family. They made their contribution to Canada and Canada embraced them as their son and daughter in their words.

They set an example of leadership integrating the Muslim community with society at large while maintaining their culture and religion. They describe it as an experience of respect and of acceptance of one another....
