See all formats and editions

This book conveys real life experiences in the life of a firefighter (the author), beginning with his childhood desire to become a firefighter, his hopes, his dreams, his desires, and his aspirations as a firefighter.

This book was written for the purpose of shining light on and exposing the cultural and racial bias that has always existed, and still does today in our society regarding the discriminatory practices, methods, tactics, and illegalities against people of color regarding hiring and promotions in all workforce categories.

This has been, and still is an ongoing and deliberate attempt to promote the advancement of whites over people of color and to prevent the advancement of people of color.

This racial injustice is still "alive and well" on the local, state, and national level today, and in particularly in our fire and police departments.

The author experienced life changing events during his 31+ years' experience as he struggled to climb the ladder of success in an effort to reach the top.

As a result of his fight for justice and racial equality, he became a drum major for justice.
