A need-based information system is a type of system that is designed to provide information that is tailored to the specific needs of a particular community or group of people. In the case of the weaver community, a need-based information system would provide information that is relevant and useful to weavers in their daily lives and work.

This information system would include information on the latest techniques and technologies in weaving, as well as information on new patterns and designs. It would also include information on market trends, prices, and where to find the best raw materials and equipment.

In addition to technical information, the system would also provide information on health and safety, as well as information on social and economic issues that affect weavers, such as fair trade and labor rights. It could also provide information on education and training opportunities for weavers and their families.

The system would be accessible to weavers in remote areas, and would be designed in such a way that it is easy for weavers to use, even if they have limited literacy or computer skills. It could be delivered via mobile phone, or through community-based centers with trained facilitators, to ensure the information is accessible to all.

Overall, a need-based information system for the weaver community would provide valuable information that would help weavers improve their livelihoods, and could also help to preserve traditional weaving practices and skills.

Small Scale Industries (SSI) are those industries in which manufacturing, providing

services, and productions are done on a small or micro scale. Small scale industries play an

essential role in the social and economic development of India. These industries make a one-time

investment in machinery, plants, and industries on an ownership basis, hire purchase or

lease basis not exceed Rs. 1 Crore. Essentially small-scale industries comprise small

enterprises that manufacture goods or services with the help of relatively more minor machines and

a few workers and employees.

In developing countries like India, these small-scale industries are the lifeline of the

economy. These are generally labour-intensive industries, so they create a good number of

employments. They also help with per capita income and resource utilisation in the economy. They

are a crucial sector of the economy from a financial and social point of view. The small scale

industries have acquired the pre- eminent position in the economic structure of the

country. The Contribution   of   the   sector   both   towards   the   economic

advancement/development  and  removal  of  economic  dispositions among class sections of

the society has been tremendous. These enterprises account for almost 40% of the total

goods and services produced in the Indian economy. These small scale industries are a major

source of employment in the country. The whole labour force cannot find work in the formal

sector of the economy. These labour- intensive industries provide a livelihood to many.
