Lying at a central point on the flyways for populations wintering further to the west, south or east.

This publication provides a comprehensive overview of the existing knowledge required for the elaboration of effective conservation and management strategies for geese, and is based on a series of monthly winter counts made in 1986-1991.

The results of these studies have been integrated into a Hungarian Waterfowl Management Plan, now being implemented.
