This study presents methods and devices for concentrating solar light energy for the generation of electricity.

It is based on work carried out at the Instituto de Energia Solar, Madrid, where there have been advances made in the design and construction of more efficient solar cells. The text explores the bifacial cell, which was invented by Antonio Luque, along with solar cells, heavily doped zones, and high injection, including non-linear effects and series resistance effects.

The book concludes by analyzing the role of gallium arsenide and related cells.
