Physics Coursework : A Students' Guide to Success

See all formats and editions

This purpose of this book is to provide students with advice on how to improve their performance in the colursework component of GCSE Physics.

The term "coursework" is taken to mean that part of the assessment that is carried out by the teacher, that is the "internal assessment".

This involves in all cases practical and in some communication skills depending on the syllabus.

An indication of the requirements of a number of syllabuses is included. Although designed principally with Physics GCSE in mind, it would be equally suitable for the many balanced science course now being taught.

These all include a strong element of Physics which may be clearly identified, as in co-ordinated syllabuses such as Nuffield and Suffolk, and less obvious but still an important component in integrated and modular courses. It provides an outline of all the aspects that will be assessed in the exam.

Advice on coursework forms the bulk of the book and is illustrated by numerous examples of pupils' work.

It concludes with a short section on general study-skills.
