On their way to the Grand Canyon the Everett family instead finds themselves at the bottom of a cliff.

The reason they survived: Eva has powers. A group of dangerous people force Eva to flee to a camp for people like her--people with powers.

However, things at the camp aren't easy either. New friendships and budding love prove difficult. Nothing is made easier by the war looming on the horizon.
