In a version of Romeo and Juliet set in England during the industrial revolution in the 1860s.

Present are the passion and poetry, albeit in a more manageable, softened delivery.

Much of it in iambic pentameter, but readers shouldn't be intimidated, for the lyrical elements are very accessible.

It is rich vs. poor and forbidden love, yet so much more. Mercurius has many obstacles, of them being a poor man in love with a rich young woman, but his greatest is his own deluded views on love.

Scarred by the wounds of a harsh upbringing and an abusive father, Mercurius is certain love is a lost illusion - despite the fact that love stares right at him.

Will he come away with the girl or will he suffer a painful demise?
