Perhaps because of his dirt-poor childhood, nothing mattered more to Elvis other than food. Author, David Adler, has interviewed and eaten with the chef at Elvis's high school in Memphis, with Pauline Nicholson, Elvis's cook at Gracelands, his valet and nurse Cocke who fed Elvis during his stays in hospital.

The book takes readers from the fun food of Las Vegas to the "tragic dinners" of excess in his final days, right up to the "last supper".
