Hattie Ward, far from being the disgrace that Mansfield Park legend would have it known, was in fact the most accomplished and kind of the Ward sisters. However, she is parcelled off by her family to her uncle's estate in Portsmouth. There, she tries to fit in with her troublesome male cousins and their sickly sisters.
