Hospital Sketches (1st edition.)

During the American Civil War in 1862-1863 Louisa May Alcott, best known as the author of Little Women, spent six weeks as a volunteer nurse in the Union Hospital at Georgetown in Washington D.C.

She later published these sketches based on her experiences at the hospital.
