Inferno

This edition of Dante's masterpiece is based on Michael Palma's acclaimed verse translation.

Lavinia Greenlaw wrote in the "New Statesman" that Palma "rejects archaism and rhetorical extravagance, preferring accuracy and rhythmic regularity" and Guido Waldman in "The Spectator" said "this Norton edition is a particular joy".

Explanatory annotations, an introduction by Giuseppe Mazzotta, a Translator's Note and the Plan of Dante's Hell will help students understand Dante's work.
