When people think of minority populations, they often think of inner cities and other urban areas - but actually, almost half the rural populations in North America are comprised of minority populations.

Rural minority teens face many of the same issues that other North American adolescents do, but their lives are also influenced by the unique cultures to which they belong.

These cultures may offer them support and opportunities other teens may not have - but unfortunately, these young adults also face racism and prejudice.

Minority populations still encounter many barriers to education, work, and health care.
