John F. "Jake" Mintun (July 12, 1894 - February 25, 1976) was professional American football player who played offensive lineman for seven seasons for the Decatur/Chicago Staleys (1920-1921), the Racine Legion (1922-1924), the Kansas City Cowboys (1925), and the Racine Tornadoes (1926).

American football is a sport played between two teams of eleven with the objective of scoring points by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone.

Known in the United States simply as football, it may also be referred to informally as gridiron football.
