Urbanization in England : projections 1991-2016

In 1990 the Department of the Environment published a report entitled "Rates of Urbanization in England, 1981-2001", which projected levels and rates of urbanization in countries and regions.

This study builds upon and updates the previous work.

Its aims are to extend the projection period from 2001 to 2016 and improve upon the methods used for producing the projections.

It is based on a series of assumptions about the nature of the relationship between housing output and urban growth, about the quantitative parameter that links these two elements and about the future level of housing output.
